Staying young under the sea … here’s how Marine-D3

Rare Undersea Discovery Could Extend Your Life by 10, 20 or 30 Years

Rare Undersea Discovery Could Extend Your Life by 10, 20 or 30 Years

Humans have made incredible health strides and are living longer lives than ever.  Many of the maladies that struck down our ancestors have for the most part been completely eliminated – everything from tuberculosis, to polio to malaria.

Today, the biggest killers stem as much from our lifestyles as from microscopic bacteria and viruses.  One of the worst of these is heart disease, and specifically high blood pressure. It’s a slow, but efficient killer that robs many people of what should be the last 10, 20 or 30 years of their lives.

Part of the reason that heart disease is so prevalent and intractable is that it often requires massive changes to one’s lifestyle— changes that are not easy to make.  Everything from radically altering ones diet to implementing serious exercise routines.  And while it’s never too late to start, people often realize the true danger only when it’s too late to make the changes and the damage is done.

Now, however, there may be a scientific breakthrough that could have an impact on high blood pressure comparable to penicillin’s ability treat infections or quinine’s effect on malaria.

Scientists are claiming that they have now isolated unusual ingredients in a rare seaweed discovered by fishermen off the coast of Korea that offer incredible health benefits—including the ability torestore blood pressure to normal levels.

Dr. Haengwoo Lee, a renowned biochemist living near Seattle, Washington conducted a massive 15 year, multimillion dollar clinical study on these two ingredients. The first is Seanol, an extremely rare seaweed extract from Ecklonia Cava that’s proven to be 100 times more powerful than any land-based antioxidant. That’s because it stays working in your body for 12 hours, compared to land-based antioxidants that work for 30 minutes.

“Its secret is its make-up of special polyphenol antioxidants that are a whopping 40% lipid (fat) soluble,” Dr. Lee explains. “Unlike nearly all land-based antioxidants that are water soluble, Seanol’s protective compounds can get into things like the fatty tissues of your brain and penetrate all three layers of your cells, including the outside, the oil-based cell membranes, and your DNA.”

Indeed, Seanol is so powerful, it’s the only FDA-approved Ecklonia Cava marine-algae extract in existence.

The second ingredient is Calamarine, a deep-sea omega-3 discovery that delivers 85% more DHA omega-3s to your heart, brain, joints, and eyes. It’s known to combat everything from fatigue and poor memory, to vision problems, joint pain, mood swings and depression.

With that research in mind, Dr. Lee combined Seanol and Calamarine with a high dose of vitamin D to form Marine-D3, the newest supplement in the fight against age-related illnesses and high blood pressure.

According to the CDC, about 1 in 3 U.S. adults has high blood pressure, which increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, the two leading causes of death in the United States. Increasing your omega-3 intake can reduce high blood pressure, and because it’s difficult to get enough omega-3s in foods like fish and nuts, many people turn to supplements.

Dr. Lee found that Calamarine delivers some of the greatest concentration of omega-3s known to science, and has been able to formulate it without any fishy burps or aftertaste. Combined with Seanol’s ability to reduce body inflammation, as well as help cells get the nutrients they need to thrive, stay healthy and protected, Marine-D3 is able to boost a body’s entire well being.

The makers of Marine-D3 are so confident that you’ll see fast dramatic results from this product, Dr. Lee’s exhaustive research, shows that Marine-D3 really is a one-of-a-kind product.

What Is The Best Non-Prescription Eyelash Enhancer?

What Is The Best Non-Prescription Eyelash Enhancer?

Eyelash enhancers are the latest beauty trend these days, and cosmetic companies everywhere are launching products that promise to give women longer, fuller, and darker lashes without the fuss of mascara or false lashes.  But, with all these options, it’s hard to know what really works and what doesn’t.

Luckily, there are reputable beauty sites out there that have put many of these eyelash enhancers to the test.  The results for this year’s top-performing eyelash enhancers are in … with SmartLash coming in with a solid 5-star rating on, the #1 online destination for skin care and beauty.

What Is Eyelash Enhancement?

If you aren’t yet aware of this increasingly popular method of achieving longer lashes, eyelash enhancers are formulas that are topically applied to the base of your lower and upper lashes.  They can even be used on sparse, thin eyebrows.

Is It Safe?

While prescription eyelash enhancers are often formulated with prostaglandin, a hormone that can cause side effects such as darkened irises (potentially irreversible) and blurred vision, more and more companies are developing safer, non-prescription alternatives that deliver impressive results.

Most non-prescription formulas are hormone and paraben-free.  Instead, they’re formulated with polypeptides, amino acids, and conditioning ingredients to help rejuvenate lashes and strengthen them against breakage.  So, you still get longer, fuller, darker-looking lashes and shapelier brows, without the negative side effects.

How Soon Can You See Results?

In some cases, users have reported seeing results in as little as seven days, while others may see results in four weeks.

SmartLash, for instance, has published its clinical results, which show that 46 percent of participants saw a difference in their eyelashes and/or brows in just seven days, while 100 percent saw a difference in 14 days.  They also experienced up to a 68 percent increase in the appearance of lash length.

Blueberry the wonder berry…

Blueberries, or as I like to call them ‘wonder berries’, are refreshing, thirst-quenching and deliciously sweet. As fruits go, blueberries are among the most nuanced. Some love blueberries while others steer clear, but one thing’s for sure; true blueberry lovers never get bored of them.

Blueberries are a taste sensation and can bring desserts and salad’s alive. Blueberry pie and blueberry-topped cheesecake are ranked favourites worldwide. So taste is one reason to keep blueberries in your diet, here are 10 more:

1. Blueberries help the brain. Memory loss that comes with age is resisted by these tiny fruits. Memory is improved, and by extension we retain more of what we learn. It’s a smart little berry!

2. Stay young by eating your 5-a-day. The free-radicals responsible for our aging are resisted by blueberries. In effect we have the power to slow down the aging process, which makes blueberries a fountain of youth.

3. The antioxidants found in blueberries have been known to give us softer skin- blueberry moisturiser anyone?

4. Similar to cranberries, blueberries can help to keep your bladder healthy by fighting bacteria that would otherwise make it more difficult to pass water.

5. Blueberries are packed with vitamins A, B, C, and E (along with selenium and zinc), which all contribute to a healthier, stronger immune system.

Invisible dry deodorant

Having tried all the usual suspects from Sure to Right Guard, we can safely say that the most ‘invisible’ of these are Nivea Black/White.

The other brands left trace elements on the clothing when getting dressed and some of them didn’t dry properly throughout the day, creating a sticky feeling in the pit area of the underarm which is uncomfortable.

Have you found any good deodorants – let us know…

30 degree wash cycles

It is being widely reported that a 30 degree wash is now causing ‘sick’ laundry.  However, you can take some wise precautions:

Clean your appliances every month on a 90 degree wash (empty) and add some appliance cleaner (Service-It by Dr Beckmann)

Wash your undies seperately from other clothing

Bed sheets should go on their own wash too

Always use detergent in the machine

Stop multitasking it is bad for you

We live in an exciting and dynamic time when it comes to social media and the digital revolution, but all of those modes of communication can do a number of things to our health. Research shows that as our brains move quickly from one topic to the next, it sends electrical signals through the body which induce stress. That stress has a significant impact on various functions throughout the body, as well as our interpersonal relationships.

So how? Take a step back from the e-devices and utilise these 5 tips for slowing down:

1. Savour mundane tasks. Moments that seem so mindless can really teach us so much. The next time you take on a chore like laundry or dishes, slow down and really try to experience whatever it is you’re doing. Smell the fresh fabrics as you fold your clothes, or lather up your hands with warm soapy water while you’re washing your dishes. Take note of how you feel in that moment and try to savour it as long as possible. By being mindful in the present moment, we create a sense of awareness of our surroundings. Our brains slow down and we have a moment to truly absorb what we’re doing rather than focusing on the next task to complete.

2. Experience nature. Go outside and look up at the sky for a few moments, plant flowers, or take a long walk. Whatever it is that gets you outdoors and in touch with nature is a surefire way to ground you and get you connected to the present moment. And leave the Blackberry at home!

3. Meditate. Meditation is an excellent way to get centered and experience life in the present moment. By quieting the mind, you’ll learn to push away the racing thoughts that can overwhelm us. And the great news is you can start small – even three minutes a day can make a difference.

4. Create a ‘Blackout Period.’ If your phone or your email is constantly alerting to you to messages and calls, it’s time to turn it off. Try to ‘go dark’ for at least one hour per day, preferably right before bed time. This allows your brain a chance to slow down and detach from the chaos of responding to everyone who is begging for your time.

5. Breathe deeply. When you start to feel overwhelmed, take a moment to breathe deeply. Sit up straight and inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. A few deep breaths can do wonders for ‘rebooting’ your system and getting some much needed oxygen to the brain. You’ll feel refreshed and energised and ready to take on one task at a time.

The benefits of an organic life

We are told constantly to switch to organic and finally this week the reason for that has become clear at long last.  The main reason for such produce as we know and understand it is due to the lack of chemicals and toxins they will introduce into our systems, fair enough…so we can eat healthily and detox at the same time, however, the most interesting part of this is also that organic foods claims not to add any sugar and that is the main reason why it is so good for us.  As we all know by now, sugar creates spikes where we feel high and then low or exhausted, followed by hunger pangs; as sugar then gives us cravings to eat…this is because we have to fight it internally to make use of it, but our systems crash after the fight often losing!  This is noticeably when we start to feel ‘down’ or bad about ourselves, we can become moody and grumpy too!

Organic food does not contain sugar, thus after eating we feel ‘well’ and for this reason alone it is well worth the effort to go organic and maintain it as far as is humanly possible.

Less is more

The old addage states that less is more…and certainly that would seem to be the case when it comes to makeup.  A new trend has landed for the new season and the cache is to get in on the invisible makeup being launched.  This basically involves using light reflecting elements in the makeup to create the illusion of natural and pure looking complexions.  For example L’Oreal has released the Instant Blur which quote “New Magic Touch Instant Blur, optically blurs the appearance of shine, pores and irregularities to enhance your natural skin tone”.

Other makeup lines are Smashbox, Botanics and Illamasqua who are also trending this new hype, would you be brave enough to sport an eventoned glowing and polished complexion devoid of colour? But it works!  Checkout the Instant Blur, with O-Glow and some eyelid primer and see the difference for yourself…
